Remote teaching a PGDip module
PGDip in educational technology students from across Africa successfully complete a 3-week online block module during COVID-19 lockdown. Students were in lockdown in Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique and South Africa.

Self-review of Foundation Phase

A PGCE Foundation Phase strategic planning meeting with a specific focus on reviewing the aims of foundation phase teacher education, its values and principles and current challenges as well as opportunities facing the programme was held in June. In attendance were two alumni who made input from their lived experience of the curriculum.

Some of the frequently asked questions were about the admission requirements, combination of subjects at undergraduate to meet the requirements for PGCE, scholarships/bursaries to study teaching and other qualifications offered by the School.

School of Education

The School of Education (SoE) is a postgraduate department located in the Neville Alexander Building at upper campus. The School currently offers qualifications in initial teacher education (ITE), continuing professional development (CPD), adult and community education, higher education and educational technology. These qualifications are offered at different levels: postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma, honours, masters and PhD level.
