NOTICE: Registration 2022

As we approach the end of 2021 and you hopefully head into some down time, I write to inform you about important changes to how and when registration will happen in 2022.

Although Senate has adopted a policy of campus based contact in 2022, for most students registration will be done online.  (In certain programmes, students will be required to attend curriculum advice sessions on campus and then register online).  The purpose of this letter is to inform you of how and when you will be required to register in 2022.

Students will be required to register online using the Peoplesoft system.  Please note that different cohorts of students will be using different ways to register remotely so it is quite possible that some of your friends may register differently.  Please follow the instructions you are sent for your programme.

The results for the 2021 academic year will be realised on system on 22 December 2021.  Results for students who have exams in in January, will be released on 28 January 2022.

Registration of returning students opens in January and will run for each programme for a set period only.  All students are required to register in the allocated window for their programme.  Find details of your registration window at http://www.students.uct.ac.za/students/current-students/registration.  Do not wait until you return to Cape Town before you register.  It is important that you register in the window allocated for your programme.   Students who register late may face a late registration penalty of R2000.00.

The international clearance, or ‘pre-registration’  (i.e. visa, medical aid and fee checks) can also be done online.

Please note that SA students can register before making the initial payment which is due on Friday 4 February 2022.  All international students must make payment before registration.

Students who did not settle their 2021 fees before registration will have a ‘fee block’ preventing re-registration in 2022.  Please contact the Fess Office to discuss your options.

Students who did not meet the readmission rules for their programme in 2021, will be informed on 22 December 2021 of the need to appeal for readmission to the Readmissions Appeal Committee (RAC).   All appeals for readmission must be submitted by 3 January 2022.
